To achieve Centre of Excellence in the field of Science, Technology and Management Education for creating dynamic human resources of global standards with capabilities of accepting new challenges.
The Institute has state-of-the-art research centres for technical, scientific and industrial research. Various Departments of the institute are engaged in different research projects sponsored by the DST, CSIR, DBT, AICTE, UGC and many other Govt. agencies. The Departments have research collaboration with top level academic centres such as IIT Kharagpur, Jadavpur University, NIT Durgapur, IIEST, University of Calcutta, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Institute of Chemical Engineers and many others. Recently the Institute has harnessed for higher academic collaboration with universities like Mysore University (India), MingChi University (Taiwan) and Webster University (Thailand), NIT Kurukshetra to augment the research & development avenues in frontier technologies/ scientific fields.
An Industry-Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) at the Institute focuses on better interaction between industries and academia for mutual benefits through collaborative research and co-curricular activities (e.g. workshops, Industrial visits, Seminar lectures) that enriches students and faculties with unique perspectives. Such enrichment enables our students to reach better heights of achievements during their professional career. The advantage of being in the midst of an industrial hub with market leaders like Indian Oil Corporation, TATA Chemicals, Mitsubishi Chemicals, Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd. Excide Industries Ltd., AdaniWilmar Ltd., SGS India and many others makes our Institute ideal for flourishing through the IIPC events.
The Institute has full time faculty strength of more than 250 (out of which more than 100 faculty members are having PhD.
HIT has dedicated team of teachers who are committed to igniting the spark of creativity and inspiring a quest for knowledge in the minds of students. Faculties are highly involved in various national levels scientific and research activities, through which students enrich their knowledge and get exposure in diversify research field.
Aryabhatta Central Library
The library (4402 sq. m area) has a rich collection of 114259 books, 198 print journals, 10 databases of e-resource journals (Science direct, J-GATE, IEEE, ASTM, ASCE, Springer, etc.) covering about 21017 e-journals. In addition, databases of ProQuest and McGraw-Hill facilitate access to 39232 e-books on wide variety of disciplines.
