Bio Technology

The Department of Biotechnology at Haldia Institute of Technology, established in 2001, has evolved into a dynamic centre of excellence committed to high-quality education, cutting-edge research, and industry-oriented training. The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes designed to produce industry-ready professionals and researchers with strong multidisciplinary expertise and innovation skills. Backed by institute-wide accreditations from bodies such as NAAC (Grade A) and NBA (Tier-I), along with approval from AICTE and affiliation to MAKAUT, the department enjoys strong national recognition and academic credibility. The department actively engages in interdisciplinary research across diverse domains such as plant biotechnology, molecular genetics, computational biology, environmental biotechnology, and anticancer drug interactions, supported by funded projects from national agencies like DBT, DST, CSIR, SERB (ANRF) and MSME.
