Appear for JEE Mains or WBJEE entrance exam with minimum 60% marks in 12th PCM. Score is mandatory for all B.Tech admissions.

What is the eligibility for B.Tech at HIT Haldia?
B.Tech eligibility: Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM). Minimum 60% aggregate marks in PCM for general category; 45–55% for reserved categories. Valid JEE Mains or WBJEE score is mandatory. For Biotechnology branch, Biology is acceptable instead of Mathematics. Diploma holders can apply for direct 2nd year admission through JELET examination (lateral entry).
Can I get admission without JEE in HIT Haldia?
No, JEE Mains or WBJEE score is mandatory for B.Tech admission at HIT Haldia. Direct admission without entrance exam is not available. You must qualify either: (1) JEE Mains (conducted by NTA), or (2) WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination). Admission is through centralized counseling conducted by WBJEEB based on your rank.

B.Tech Fee Structure (2026-27): Total cost (without hostel) ₹6,12,700 for 4 years. With hostel: ₹7,61,700. Semester-wise payment required. Fee includes Tuition Fee (₹60,500/sem), Development Fee (₹9,000/sem), Library charges (₹1,500/sem), and other amenities. First semester includes one-time fees like admission (₹10,000), prospectus (₹5,000), and caution deposits (₹5,000 refundable). Hostel charges: ₹18,000/semester + one-time caution deposit ₹5,000. Payment options: Online (cards, net banking, UPI) or offline (DD, cash).
Are education loans available for HIT Haldia?
