The library occupies a unique place in the academic and research activities of the institute. Housed in a separate three-storied building on the southern side of the main building, it spans a total floor space of 4,402 sqm across three reading halls capable of accommodating 300 students simultaneously.

Aryabhatta Central Library caters to seventeen disciplines comprising sixteen academic departments and the Department of Basic and Applied Sciences. All in-house operations are fully automated using Koha software (v22.05.15), providing web-based access through an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). Seventeen departmental libraries are also connected to the Central Library network.

The library extends its services beyond physical walls — including materials accessible by electronic means and a modern e-resources collection with a variety of digital tools available around the clock.

Rules & Regulations
Please follow these guidelines

Identity Card

Carry Library Membership Card / Student ID always and produce on demand by library personnel or security at entrance.

Personal Belongings

Keep bags, books, food, and water bottles at the entrance. Carry valuables like mobile, laptop, and cash with you.

Dress Code

No pullover, windcheater, or loose fitting jackets inside the library. Tight sweaters are permitted in winter.

Book Care

Do not scribble, damage, or make inscriptions on books or library property. Check physical condition before issue.

OPAC Verification

Always verify your library account on WebOPAC after every issue or return. Check via Wi-Fi enabled mobile.

Lost Membership Card

File a General Diary at the local police station and submit an application to the Librarian for duplicate card (Rs. 25).

Duplicate membership card issued on payment. GD at police station required for lost card.

Lost / Damaged Book
2× Cost

Replace with latest edition, or pay twice the current price plus applicable overdue fines.
