1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website of Haldia Institute of Technology ("HIT", "the Institute", "we", "us") at hithaldia.ac.in, including any subdomain, portal, or online payment page linked from it, you ("user", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this website or proceed with any online transaction.

2 Use of the Website

This website provides information regarding admissions, academics, examinations, placements, fee payment, and other institutional services. You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict, or inhibit the use and enjoyment of this site by any third party.

• You must provide accurate and complete information wherever requested (admission forms, fee payment, enquiries, etc.).
• You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website, servers, or databases.
• Content on this website is for general information only and is subject to change without prior notice.

3 Online Payments

The Institute accepts online payments for admission fees, semester/tuition fees, hostel fees, examination fees, and other applicable charges through the secure payment gateway integrated on this website.

• Always verify the amount, fee head, and student/applicant details before confirming a payment.
• A transaction is considered successful only when you receive a confirmation receipt/transaction ID on screen, via email, or via SMS.
• In case the amount is debited from your account but no confirmation is received, do not retry immediately — wait for reconciliation (see Refund Policy) or contact the accounts office with your transaction reference number.
• The Institute is not responsible for failed transactions caused by issues at your bank, network provider, or browser.

4 Payment Gateway Partner

Secured by ICICI Bank Payment Gateway

All online payments on this website are processed through ICICI Bank's payment gateway ("ICICI Orange Payment Gateway"). Card, net-banking, UPI, and wallet details entered at the time of payment are captured directly on ICICI Bank's secure, PCI-DSS compliant payment page and are not stored on the Institute's servers.

By proceeding with a payment, you also agree to the terms, conditions, and privacy policy of ICICI Bank and any card network or UPI app you choose to pay through. The Institute acts only as the merchant raising the payment request and has no access to your card, CVV, PIN, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials at any point.

5 User Obligations

• Keep your login credentials (student/applicant portal, email) confidential and do not share them with anyone.
• Do not use another person's details to make a payment or submit a form on their behalf without authorization.
• Report any suspected fraudulent transaction or unauthorized use of your account to the Institute immediately.

6 Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of Haldia Institute of Technology unless otherwise stated, and is protected under applicable copyright and trademark laws. No content may be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without prior written permission.

7 Limitation of Liability

The Institute makes reasonable efforts to keep information on this website accurate and up to date but does not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted or error-free. The Institute shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from the use of this website, technical failures, or delays caused by third-party service providers including the payment gateway, banks, or internet service providers.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Purba Medinipur, West Bengal.
