Umesh Pal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology, Haldia, West Bengal, India, with several years of teaching and industrial experience. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT Jamshedpur and holds an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Jadavpur University. He is a Top Performing Mentor of NPTEL and a Wipro Certified Full Stack Java professional. He has served as Co-Convenor, Session Chair, and Scientific Coordinator of the AIRSA 1st International Research Conference–2025, organized jointly by AIIMS New Delhi, BITS Pilani Group, NIMS University, the University of Hyderabad, and Chandigarh University, under the aegis of AIRSA. A Life Member of AIRSA, he is a recipient of the JRF at IIITB COMET Foundation (DST, Government of India) for AI/ML-based 5G network research and the inventor of the Blood Bank Inventory Management System for the Government of West Bengal. He has authored 8 publications, 4 patents, and 1 copyright, guided 2 M.Tech students, and serves as a reviewer, question paper setter, and former Assistant Head Examiner of CBSE. His research interests include NLP, machine translation, text analytics, sentiment analysis, generative AI, and ChatGPT. He has also been associated as a swimming coach with the National Swimming Association and Fort William Eastern Command, Indian Army HQ, and is an avid music enthusiast who plays instruments such as the guitar and cajón.
