Prior to joining Haldia Institute of Technology as an assistant professor of Humanities, Suswagata Chowdhury has worked as a UGC senior research fellow in the department of English and Modern European Languages of the University of Lucknow. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the South Asian diaspora of twenty-first century. Her teaching interests include technical communication, soft skills, professional ethics etc.
