About AYANA MUKHOPADHYAY

I completed my B.Sc and M.Sc in Physics from Visva Bharati, Santiniketan, West Bengal. From IIT Bhubaneswar , I received my PhD in Basic Science (Physics). After my PhD, I did post doctoral research at S.N.Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics and CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR-CGCRI) respectively.

Research Interests

My research interest is mostly directed towards the synthesis and characterisations of novel functional intermetallic compounds to understand their various ground state properties. The characterisation procedure includes the structuralmagneticheat capacityelectronic transportmagneto-transportmagnetocaloric and thermoelectric properties. Additionallywe also worked on bismuth-based perovskiteswhich are predicted as topological insulators with significant optoelectronic performances. We grow the thin film of different perovskites using the pulsed laser deposition technique and characterise the surface morphologyelectronic transportmagneticand optical properties to explore their possible applications in technological devices. Currentlywe are working on nanostructured multiferroics for device based applications.
