About BISWAJIT KUNDU

Dr. Biswajit Kundu is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Science & Humanities (Physics) at Haldia Institute of Technology since January 2025.
Dr. Biswajit Kundu received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Physics from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira and the University of Calcutta, respectively, in 2011 and 2013. He holds a PhD degree (2018) from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, followed by two postdoctoral stints (2018-2024) at ICFO-The Institute of Photonic Sciences, Spain, and IACS, India. His research interests include local probe microscopy and spectroscopic studies of the electronic characteristics of nanoscale functional materials and their interfaces, which exhibit inhomogeneous electrical properties at the nanoscale domain and control the operation of optoelectronic devices. In addition, Dr. Biswajit Kundu has hands-on expertise in the development of infrared photodetectors based on quantum dots (QD) and two-dimensional (2D) materials. His work combines quantum devices and state-of-the-art semiconductor technology, with a particular emphasis on micro and nanoscale fabrication technology. His study, which is motivated by basic intrigue, has enormous promise for future technological applications, such as developments in quantum device engineering and integrated memory devices.
