Dr. Pratyay Konar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology (HIT), Haldia, where he has been serving since September 2017. He completed his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering in 2007 from Asansol Engineering College (affiliated to MAKAUT), earned his M.E. in Electrical Machines from BESU, Shibpur (now IIEST Shibpur), and was awarded a Ph.D. in Engineering from IIEST Shibpur in 2016. He was a CSIR Senior Research Fellow during 2010–2014. Dr. Konar holds a patent titled “Artificial Neural Network Based Adaptive Over-Current Relay”. His research interests include artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in power systems, protection schemes, optimization techniques, and embedded systems. He has published research articles in reputed journals and conferences. Presently, he serves as the Branch Counsellor of the IEEE Haldia Institute of Technology Student Branch, actively promoting technical innovation, student research, and professional development.
