Ms. Piya Roy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology West Bengal with over 15 years of academic experience. She holds M.Tech degrees from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and Jadavpur University and a B.Tech from Haldia Institute of Technology. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Jadavpur University. Her areas of expertise include electrical and electronic engineering microgrid protection technology smart grid systems and power electronics applications. She has published several research papers in reputed IEEE international conferences and journals and received the Best Paper Award at IEEE International Conference-ICEFEET 2024. Ms. Roy serves as a reviewer for IEEE international conferences and is a frequent guest speaker for IEEE student branches. She is also a co inventor of published and granted patents related to intelligent smart grid systems and examination proctoring technologies reflecting her active engagement in research innovation and interdisciplinary development.
