Dr. Jyoti Doley is an Associate Professor of English in the School of Applied Science and Humanities at Haldia Institute of Technology. A UGC-NET qualified scholar, she has earned her PhD in English from Vidyasagar University and holds an M.Phil in English Language Education from The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, complemented by a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism from Cotton College, Guwahati, Assam.
Her academic and professional work centers around English language pedagogy, communication studies, Applied linguistics, and contemporary literary discourse. Drawing on her interdisciplinary background, she has designed and delivered soft skills, workplace communication, and employability training for managers, supervisors, and laborers across diverse industrial sectors, emphasizing practical communication strategies rooted in research. Alongside her teaching and training responsibilities, Dr. Doley is an active creative writer. Her published poetry and books demonstrate a sustained engagement with language, identity, and culture, and she continues to contribute to academic and literary communities through research and creative writing.
