Dr. Atanu Kuila is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Haldia Institute of Technology, West Bengal, India. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, under the supervision of Prof. Arun K. Nandi after the completion of M.Sc. in Chemistry from IIT Delhi. Dr. Kuila is a CSIR–UGC NET qualified researcher with strong expertise in synthetic polymer chemistry.
His research interests focus on controlled/living radical polymerization, graft and block copolymers, and functionalization of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF). He has made significant contributions to the development of thermo- and pH-responsive polymeric materials, antifouling membranes, and polymer–graphene hybrid systems with tuneable optoelectronic properties. Dr. Kuila has published extensively in high-impact international journals such as Journal of Materials Chemistry A, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Langmuir, and Journal of Polymer Science. His current research aims at designing stimuli-responsive polymeric materials for advanced membrane, sensing, and nanomaterial applications.
