Dr. Kousik Maiti is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Science & Humanities (Mathematics) at Haldia Institute of Technology. He obtained his BSc in Mathematics from Uluberia College under the University of Calcutta, followed by an MSc in Applied Mathematics from Vidyasagar University and a BEd from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. He completed his PhD at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela under the supervision of Prof. Suchandan Kayal, specializing in statistical inference, censoring, and data analysis.
Dr. Maiti is proficient in R, Python, Mathematica, and MATLAB. His research work includes several publications in UGC-CARE-listed international journals, with additional manuscripts under review. He has served as a guest lecturer at Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya, an adjunct faculty member at Adamas University, and gained postdoctoral research experience at IIT Roorkee. At HIT, he is committed to research excellence and mentoring future quantitative scholars.
