Souvik Das is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology, serving since 2016. His research interests encompass structural engineering and alternative sustainable construction materials, with emphasis on performance-driven and environmentally responsible design. His academic work addresses low-carbon cementitious systems, alkali-activated and geopolymer materials, and durability-oriented material development. In parallel with his academic role, he is actively associated with local consultancy works involving structural health monitoring and material testing. These professional engagements provide practical exposure to in-situ assessment, non-destructive testing, and condition evaluation of structures, enabling a strong integration of field-based insights with laboratory research. His combined academic and consultancy experience supports the development of reliable, sustainable, and practice-oriented solutions for civil engineering infrastructure.
