Dr. Abhijit Saha is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology, Haldia. He completed his B.E. in Production Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala, and his M.Tech in Manufacturing Technology from NITTTR, Kolkata, followed by a Ph.D. in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur. Associated with HIT since 2012, he has progressed from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor through sustained academic and research contributions. His research expertise includes traditional and non-traditional machining of difficult-to-cut high-temperature resistant alloys, welding technology, quality optimization, multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM), and additive manufacturing. He has published several research papers in reputed SCI, SCOPUS, and ESCI indexed journals. In addition to research, he has served as Hostel Superintendent, Central Publication Committee Member, and Training and Placement Coordinator, and has actively contributed to institutional accreditation and ranking processes such as NAAC and NBA, demonstrating strong academic leadership and administrative competence.
