Dr. Soumya Roy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology, West Bengal. He received his Ph.D. (Engineering) from Jadavpur University with specialization in Instrumentation and Signal Processing. He secured First Class First in his B.E. (Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering) from the University of Burdwan and First Class Second in M.Tech (Instrumentation and Control Engineering) from the University of Calcutta. He also qualified GATE in 2012 and 2013. His research interests include Embedded System, Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, Solar Irradiance Measurement, Solar Signal Analysis, and Solar Cycle Prediction. He has more than a decade of teaching and research experience and has published extensively, with over 37 research contributions including journal papers, book chapters, conference publications, and granted patents. He serves as a reviewer for reputed international journals and is an active member of professional bodies such as IEI, IEEE, and ISoI, and has coordinated several national-level workshops and FDPs including an ATAL Academy–sponsored programme.
