Dr. Gora Das is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Science & Humanities at Haldia Institute of Technology (HIT) in Haldia, West Bengal. He holds a Ph.D. in Science from Jadavpur University and completed his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Chemistry from Vidyasagar University. At HIT, Dr. Das teaches core chemistry courses to undergraduate students and is involved in laboratory instruction, contributing to the academic foundation of engineering students.

In research, he focuses on organic chemistry, including the isolation and characterization of plant-derived compounds, synthesis of biologically active carbohydrate-based molecules, and related biological testing. His work also involves interpreting data from spectroscopic techniques like NMR and mass spectrometry.
