Dr. Abir Sarkar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology. A passionate researcher and educator, he focuses on soil dynamics, vibration mitigation, and finite element modeling. Recently, his work has expanded into sustainable construction and waste management, particularly the development of paver blocks using recycled plastic materials. Dr. Sarkar earned his Ph.D. from NIT Silchar and continues to mentor projects that blend environmental responsibility with engineering innovation. He believes that teaching should inspire problem-solving rooted in real-world impact and sustainability.
