Dr. Bidesh Chakraborty is a Professor and Head, in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, at Haldia Institute of Technology, West Bengal, India. With 16 years of teaching experience, he is recognized as an expert in his field. His current research centres on computer vision, focusing on topics like image classification, segmentation, and object detection, though his earlier research interests included Cellular Automata. Dr. Chakraborty earned his B.Tech degree from West Bengal University of Technology in 2005, followed by a Master of Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, where he also completed his Ph.D. in 2019. Over his academic career, he has made significant contributions to indexed journals and conference proceedings through numerous research publications. He supervises six Ph.D. scholars from different universities, and regularly serves as a resource person delivering lectures in FDPs.
