Civil Engineering

Department of Civil Engineering in Haldia Institute of Technology was established in 2005.The department offers B.Tech. and M.Tech. program to produce competent engineers who can contribute effectively to the improvement in quality of basic needs of human civilization and taking care of the naturally and humanly built environments with their planning, designing, construction, operation and maintenance. The Civil Engineering Department at HIT Haldia is earnestly working to develop solutions to major sustainability challenges of the country and committed to produce leaders impacting the society at large. The Department is actively involved in basic and applied research in the field of Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Water Resources Engineering.

To establish the department as frontiers by offering quality education in proper perspective to accomplish diversified necessities in the field of Civil Engineering education, research and profession.

Our Mission

The mission of the Department of Civil Engineering is to optimize an effective teaching learning process to prepare the students equipped with fundamental and effective knowledge base blended with contemporary skills with focus on its relevance to the industrial and real life scenarios so that one can emerge as a successful graduate and poised readily to serve the industry and having a strong foundation of higher studies and research with ethical and human values. The prima?facie mission of the Department is| To develop qualified and proficient civil engineers having contemporary skills through outcome?based and self?learning strategies for the service of the sorority.| To encourage innovative and real-world problem-oriented research capabilities in the young engineers.| To infuse strong ethical values and good professional behavior, so as to adapt and absorb contemporary changes in the field of engineering profession.

INDIAN STUDENTS

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board.
  • Selection Criteria: WBJEE / JEE(Main).
  • B.Tech-Lateral Entry: Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute. Selection: JELET.

  • Candidates must have completed 12 years of schooling (equivalent to 10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board or equivalent authority.
