Electronics & Communication Engineering

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in 1998 with an intake capacity of 30 students. Currently has an intake capacity of 180 students in the B.Tech course and 12 students for PG course in Microelectronics and VLSI Design since 2005. National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accredited it in 2004, subsequently in 2008, followed by 2018 and 2022. The department has several well-equipped laboratories for the students as well as for researchers. It has a departmental Library with adequate books. The faculty strength of 34 members of the department constitutes an ambience of experience and research along with quality teaching practices in diverse fields. The reflection of the research activities is observed in the quality publications of the department as a whole. The Department remains actively involved with various technical and non-technical events with students throughout the year.

Our Vision

To produce dynamic human resources of global standards by imparting quality teaching, carrying out research and technology development in the emerging areas of Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Our Mission

To produce electronics and communication engineers having strong theoretical foundation, good design experience and exposure to research and technology development in frontier areas of electronics and communication engineering.|To create competent professionals who can work as an individual or in a group with effective communication and leadership skills meeting the requirements of multi-cultural global environments.|To help the student be a successful and responsible engineer for the betterment of mankind by inculcating social and ethical values in professional engineering programme.

Dr. Chanchal Kumar De

Professor & HoD
Ph.D.

Engineering is the foundation of innovation, and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) stands at the forefront of technological advancement. ECE bridges hardware and software, encompassing diverse domains such as communication systems, VLSI design, embedded systems, signal processing, control systems, IoT, antennas, microwaves, AI-ML and microprocessors. These areas collectively drive the development of modern technologies including smartphones, automobiles, aircraft, and medical robotics. Our department provides a vibrant academic environment that combines strong theoretical foundations with hands-on learning. It is supported by a team of experienced Ph.D. faculty members and enthusiastic young researchers who actively contribute to research, publications, and patents. State-of-the-art laboratories-such as PCB, Robotics, IoT, VLSI, and a dedicated research center with licensed software-enhance experiential learning beyond the university curriculum. Strong industry collaborations, MoUs with professional bodies, skill development programs, internships, industrial visits, and technical events ensure holistic student development. Our graduates excel in leading industries and higher studies, reflecting the departments commitment to academic and research excellence.
